Dear Valuable Donor,

On behalf of Blind Industries & Services of Maryland (BISM), thank you for being a generous sponsor of the inaugural Veterans Day Concert Performance on Saturday, November 11, 2017. With your support, 84 veterans and their spouses attended the event FREE of charge.

Major General Randy Taylor, Commanding General at Aberdeen Proving Ground, and Colonel Robert Phillips III, Garrison Commander at Aberdeen Proving Ground, attended the gala concert event in Baltimore on Veterans Day. The event honored two World War II veterans, Mr. Vernon Foster, United States Army, and Mr. William Kruse, United States Navy, and acknowledged all of the men and women who serve our great country. Kai Jackson, FOX 45 evening news anchor, skillfully ran the evening and made it very memorable.

Attendees enjoyed a beautiful concert performance by the Maryland Conservatory of Music, who played a variety of Classic Rock and Patriotic pieces. Highlights of the evening included an outstanding performance of “Amazing Grace” by BISM Associate Keith Tyson and Dr. Duke Thompson’s rendition of “I’ll be Home for Christmas/Danny Boy”. The Governor of Maryland, Federal, and State Representatives issued citations to the two honorees as well as the three event chair organizations: Blind Industries and Services of Maryland, Warriors on the Green, and Sound Minds USA for their work with soldiers and disabled veterans.

This event would not have been nearly as successful without the support of a caring and generous community. We thank you our sponsor, and all of the volunteers, for making the event a success! Save the date of November 10, 2018, for our second Veterans Day Concert!

Sincerely,

Frederick J. Puente
President

Save the Date for next year: November 10, 2018.
