Youth 5 – 14

At BISM our elementary programs, mainly at our Salisbury location, cater to blind youth aged 5-14, providing them with enriching experiences in an inclusive environment.

Throughout the year, students gather, often with their parents, to learn new skills, form lasting friendships, and bolster their confidence.

During the summer, we offer one- and two-week-long camps tailored to enhancing blindness skills. Our camps provide a unique blend of adventure and learning, empowering students to cultivate confidence, independence, and a sense of community.

Students embark on a journey of discovery, navigating diverse environments and refining their mobility and sensory skills in unfamiliar settings. Engaging group activities foster teamwork, communication, and effective time management—essential life skills that extend beyond the camp experience.

Our dedicated staff understand the importance of pushing campers beyond their comfort zones, creating opportunities for self-discovery, and building self-confidence. This newfound confidence serves as a guiding light, empowering students not only throughout camp but also in their everyday lives.

At BISM, it’s more than just fun; we provide the tools and experiences that equip students to navigate the world with confidence and independence.
