As blind students transition into their middle and high school years, BISM continues to provide comprehensive programs designed to meet their evolving needs and prepare them for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
SUPERNOVA: Registration open for 25/26 school year
Formerly GLIDE, this program offers monthly workshops designed to empower students with essential skills, fostering independence, and leadership qualities as they navigate through secondary education and entering the workforce.
GOLD STAR: Registration open for summer ’26
An immersive four-week work-based learning experience designed to provide blind students with valuable hands-on experience in a professional work environment. Through internships, job shadowing, and nonvisual skills training, students gain practical skills, build professional networks, and prepare for successful careers after graduation.
STAR: Coming summer ’27
This program focuses on helping blind students gain a comprehensive understanding of the various career paths available to them. Through work cite tours, professional mentorship, and hands-on experiences, students explore their interests, develop essential skills, and make informed decisions about their future careers.
