Our need is for a Training and Development Specialist to join our Baltimore, MD location. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with a close-knit group, in a team-based environment.
We are looking for a full time Training and Development Specialist. The schedule will be Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm.
Essential Position Functions:
(Other Duties May Be Assigned)
- Develops and executes leadership skills training to BISM supervisors, forepersons, and instructors
- Utilizes research-based materials to provide appropriate and effective instruction
- Collaborates with BISM leadership to identify training priorities and needs
- Provides one-on-one leadership coaching
- Mentors BISM interns
- Provides other types of training as needed
- Documents Associate progress, areas for improvement, and recommended next steps
- Travels to multiple BISM locations (as needed) to deliver training
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 or more years of experience teaching
- Knowledge of research-based educational practices, adult learning theory
- Exhibits professionalism, problem solving, and collaboration skills
- Comfortable consulting research-based training sources
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to effectively engage an audience
- Possesses excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Exhibits proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must possess strong organizational and time-management skills. Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and meet deadlines
- Exceptional collaboration skills and highly motivated
- Possesses an empowering philosophy about the capabilities of individuals who are blind
