It is critical to ensure individuals have the support and tools to be successful in their work at BISM and beyond.
Our vision is to create an environment with no limits for people who are blind.
Training & Accessibility is a collaborative process. It’s about engaging Associates to identify tools and strategies to help them be successful.
Whether it’s learning how to use a new technology or piece of equipment, improving upon an existing skillset, or elevating one’s ability to take on new challenges, it’s about exploring opportunities for Associates to contribute to BISM’s mission.
We cannot promise that someone is going to be able to do everything. We do commit to working with each Associate to figure it out together.
“I was working with someone recently on some of our industrial sewing machines, she was initially discouraged because the first operation she was learning wasn’t going well. But we went through each machine together. When she started to get it, there was this confidence and recognition from her – yes, I can do this.” – Operations Trainer
Training gives people the opportunity to understand what they can do.
“People who are blind working on industrial manufacturing equipment isn’t amazing. I’m not amazing. There are so many things that we are capable of doing. Exploring capabilities with Associates gets me excited.” – Operations Trainer
