The BISM Internship Program offers an opportunity to promote real-world experience and mentoring in a supportive environment.
In-person internships are available for fall, spring, and summer for approximately 3 to 4 months.
Interns will have an opportunity to explore a variety of fields, some of which might include: technology, management, teaching, human resources, and marketing, among others. This opportunity is available for prospective and current college students, recent graduates, and adults undergoing career exploration. BISM will work with interns to offer a customizable work experience centered around the intern’s areas of interest. This is a paid internship opportunity with housing options available.
We are looking for applicants who:
- Are comfortable with Microsoft Word and Excel, or willing to learn
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Take initiative appropriately and apply problem-solving skills
- Are prompt and professional
- Are able to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Feel comfortable working both independently and as a team member
- Are passionate about changing what it means to be blind
- Exhibit a positive attitude
- Are self-driven, eager to learn, and want to be challenged
