Internship Program

The BISM Internship Program offers an opportunity to promote real-world experience and mentoring in a supportive environment.

In-person internships are available for fall, spring, and summer for approximately 3 to 4 months. 

Interns will have an opportunity to explore a variety of fields, some of which might include: technology, management, teaching, human resources, and marketing, among others. This opportunity is available for prospective and current college students, recent graduates, and adults undergoing career exploration. BISM will work with interns to offer a customizable work experience centered around the intern’s areas of interest. This is a paid internship opportunity with housing options available.

We are looking for applicants who:

  • Are comfortable with Microsoft Word and Excel, or willing to learn
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Take initiative appropriately and apply problem-solving skills
  • Are prompt and professional
  • Are able to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Feel comfortable working both independently and as a team member
  • Are passionate about changing what it means to be blind
  • Exhibit a positive attitude
  • Are self-driven, eager to learn, and want to be challenged
