Community Outreach

BISM’s commitment to empowering blind individuals extends far beyond the confines of our facilities.

Alongside our comprehensive programs, we actively engage with the community through initiatives like our Home Visit Program. Our dedicated instructors make home visits to provide personalized support and guidance to blind individuals, ensuring that our services reach those who may not be able to access them otherwise. Through partnerships with local chambers of commerce, business associations, and interactive workshops, we’re breaking down barriers and fostering a more inclusive society. Join us in our mission to empower and educate, one home visit and community event at a time.

Community Outreach and Education

At BISM, we’re dedicated to fostering inclusivity and understanding within our community. Here’s how we’re making a difference:

  • Community Outreach:
Through differing activities, we strive to increase awareness and acceptance of blindness while highlighting the valuable contributions of blind individuals to society.
  • Partnerships:
We collaborate with local chambers of commerce, business associations, and community organizations to broaden our reach and enhance our impact. By actively participating in their events and initiatives, we foster connections and promote inclusivity across various sectors.
  • Educating About Misconceptions:
Through our social media platforms, newsletters, videos, and public appearances at events, we actively educate the community about the misconceptions surrounding blindness. By addressing stereotypes and providing accurate information, we strive to create a more informed and supportive community for blind individuals.

Through our commitment to community engagement, partnerships, and challenging misconceptions, we’re breaking down barriers and building a more inclusive society for blind individuals and the community at large.  Together we are positively changing attitudes about blindness.
