This position is full time, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. Annual salary of $56,000-$84,000.

- Meet program-related goals determined by I.T.R. Director for:

- Coordinate efforts of the CORE staff, including Day, evening, and Weekend instruction teams.
- Provide program balance between skill acquisition and skill application.
- Mentor and model Structured Discovery methodology in all aspects of training.
- Attend daily morning meetings with students and staff.
- Lead weekly staff meeting.
- Conduct student staffing conferences with VR counselors, students, and BISM staff.
- Monitor and authorize program expenses, operating within budget.
- Oversee student curriculum, communicate with staff, student, & VR Counselor progress and forecast completion.
- I.T.R. (Independence Training & Rehabilitation) Program Development
- Attend Conferences representing BISM

- Assist Program Director with Budget preparation.
- Contribute to other programming departments (Youth, Senior, Mobile, Support) as needed.
- Provide expertise in instruction methods of nonvisual blindness skills.
- Be present for students and staff in all programs.
- BISM Community Awareness
- Be a contributor to the overall vision and goal setting for the entirety of BISM.
- Attend BISM fund-raising and community awareness events.
- Provide tours and expertise for the I.T.R. department to visitors.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Requires education or learning beyond high school which was acquired by a prolonged course of specialized instruction.
- Must be proficient in alternative skills of blindness.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organization and management skills.
- May be required to travel.
Additional Desired Qualifications (NOT Required):
- Experience working in the blindness community.
- Certification(s) in the field of education and/or rehabilitation.
- Participation in organizations related to blindness.
