Warehouse Supervisor – JBAB, DC

We have an exciting position at our new AbilityOne Base Supply Center in JBAB Washington, DC, a division of Blind Industries and Services of Maryland. We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor. BISM is a leading producer of cut fabric kits and sewn products, such as military garment kits, military uniforms and other cut and sewn products.

So, what will you actually be doing?

The successful candidate will:

  • Receive and unload deliveries, ensuring deliveries are performed expeditiously.
  • Maintain an orderly stocked warehouse, including light cleaning duties when necessary.
  • Operate a point of sales system.
  • Ensure inventory control to include performing Cycle Counts.
  • Perform customer service functions to include greeting customers, assisting with product selection, and loading of purchases.
  • Supervise Warehouse Associates and Delivery Driver
  • Organize and process the orderly assembly, release, and the delivery of special orders.
  • Perform customer deliveries as required.
  • Conduct material pickups from Vendors as required.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment.
  • Coordinate and Communicate with Purchasing Department to ensure proper inventory levels are being maintained.
  • Conducting performance reviews, administering disciplinary actions if necessary and other tasks related to oversight of warehouse staff.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a “Can Do”, roll-up sleeves and get it done attitude.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational skills, and outstanding customer service skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years Warehouse experience desired with forklift experience preferred, and the ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and multitask constantly shifting priorities.
  • Knowledge of basic computer operations.
  • Must be very organized, detailed and a team player…must be willing to adapt to change.
  • Maintain a current medical card and other requirements to operate a DOT registered vehicle.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License Zero (0) points.
