DESCRIPTION:Join us at Blind Industries and Services of Maryland (BISM) on Saturday\, October 11th\, for a day of community\, learning\, and discovery.\nThis special event is designed to bring together family\, friends\, and the public to learn more about BISM’s mission of empowering blind individuals through training\, employment\, and independence. \nLocation: Blind Industries and Services of Maryland\n3345 Washington Blvd\, Baltimore\, MD 21227\nDate: Saturday\, October 11\, 2025\nArrival: 11:30 AM\nWorkshops Begin: 12:15 PM\nMeal with Students & Staff: 2:30 PM \nWhat to Expect\nThroughout the afternoon\, guests will have the chance to experience interactive workshops that highlight the skills our students develop at BISM: \n\nBraille – Learn how Braille opens doors to literacy and independence.\nTechnology – Explore adaptive tools that make workplaces and daily life accessible.\nIndependent Living – See how confidence is built through everyday tasks.\nCane Travel – Gain insight into safe and effective navigation skills.\nFamily Support – Learn how to walk alongside your loved one during and after training.\n\nThe day will conclude with a delicious meal prepared by our students and staff\, an opportunity to celebrate together and witness the pride of their accomplishments. \nWhy Attend?\nFamily & Friends Day is more than just a community gathering\, it’s a chance to understand the heart of BISM’s mission and see firsthand how training changes lives.
