This program addresses all the job readiness skills needed for a person
who is blind to become successfully employed. In a small group setting,
participants develop successful job seeking and retention strategies during
this full-time, six-week session.
The program focuses on:
- Personal and career goals
- Appropriate work behaviors
- Resume building
- Job search techniques
- Networking benefits
- Interviewing strategies
- Evaluation and placement

Directed Technologies Institute
Using state-of-the-art adaptive technologies for the blind, we provide comprehensive,
job-related computer training on applications used in today's competitive
business world. Classes range from one to fifteen weeks, depending on the
focus of each class.
Upcoming classes will include: Windows 98, Jaws for Windows, Customer Service
Training, MSWord, Excel and others. We also partner with local businesses
to provide training for prospective employees on unique business software

We can help your organization decrease its recruiting costs, and reduce
interviewing and administrative work through our comprehensive employment
services that pre-screen applicants and pre-select qualified candidates

Blind Industries provides consultation to employers to assist them in working
with employees who are blind or experiencing difficulty at work due to vision
loss. This includes providing on-site job analysis to determine hardware,
software or accommodation needs for employees who are blind.
