The greatest obstacle faced by blind people is not their lack of eyesight, but the limiting beliefs society holds about their abilities.

BISM offers comprehensive rehabilitation programs and services that teach life skills, builds self-confidence and prepares blind or low vision people for the everyday challenges of school, home and work.

Our programs enable students to regain their independence and dignity, and we offer the only life skills program in the state of Maryland that deals exclusively with the unique needs of people who are blind.
