TWEEN RETREAT: SURVIVOR!!! DOWN ‘E OCEAN HON!
Chalk up another awesome weekend for our Tweenies’! The adventure began on Friday, September 29th! The group of 9 Tweenies’ and the Youth Services Team headed “Down ‘E Ocean Hon”! The weekend was packed with fun and lots of adventure. The Hotel Monte Carlo in lovely downtown OC hosted our group for the weekend. The hotel was just one block from the ocean and boardwalk, so we really got to put those canes to use. We did our cooking on grills at Northside Park. Friday night the kids made spaghetti on the grill. Each Tweenie chopped their own salads and we made garlic bread in cast iron skillets. The seagulls were loving our group! After dinner we hit the boardwalk to buy some yummy OC desserts and to orient for Saturday’s scavenger hunt. Saturday, the group headed back to the park to cook bacon, sausage, eggs and French toast for breakfast. Then the scavenger hunt! The kids were each given a set of directions to help them locate a variety of locations on the boards to collect their clues. Everyone did a fabulous job! The weather started to look a bit dicey, so we headed back to the hotel for a refreshing swim. A sandwich making workshop for dinner ended our fun day. Sunday morning, we headed back to the park for cereal and our final seminar. Our Tweenies’ did a fantastic job! We are really looking forward to the next Survivor weekend! Will you be up for the challenge? |

I will focus on your child’s unexplored abilities and strengths working within their parameters while gently encouraging their emerging musical soul. I have experience with children who are visually impaired as well as those with developmental delays and Autism. Music lessons are great for helping develop fine motor skills and are a wonderful supplement to occupational and physical therapy. Together we will work towards finding your child’s SENSE OF MUSIC!
